Light of the Moon

– by The Fool

If you woke up alone in your bed
Would you wonder about it or roll over instead
Would you come after me and ask me to stay
Would you tell me you loved me or had you nothing to say?

If I left would it haunt you at night
Or would you fall for others on first sight
Would you remember me if I was gone
Would you shed tears or write a sad song

Each word you sing, each note I hear
Tears my soul and I shed tear after tear
Days that were lost dance to your tune
But I weave my walls in the light of the moon

When you went ahead and broke me apart
Did you really think there could be a new start
Had you hoped I’d absolve all of your crimes
If only you’d write me some heartbreaking rhymes

When you turned as I lay alone on the floor
Did you think I wouldn’t close that last door
When I shattered to pieces did you care at all
Why didn’t you look back or answer my call

Each word you sing, each note I hear
Tears my soul and I shed tear after tear
Days that were lost dance to your tune
But I weave my walls in the light of the moon

If I woke up alone in my bed
Would I wonder about it or roll over instead
Would I come after you and ask you to stay
Would I tell you I loved you or had I nothing to say?

Each word I sing, each note I play
Tears at my soul and I wish I could stay
Days that were lost dance to my tune
As you weave your walls in the light of the moon
