Shallow Shores

– by The Fool

They are shallow, and so are you
And you and you and you sure too,
And he and she and she and he
And you and you and you and me
And everyone with working eyes,
Because with beauty we disguise
The ugly truths of our domain,
This vast blue world which is so vain.

Whether it’s looks or someone’s voice
Or character; we have no choice
But to be drawn to what we adore
Which hence has beauty at its core.
Yet should we find what we dislike
We eagerly cast it aside
And search for new shores, sipping tea,
However shallow they may be.
