Reflections

– by The Fool

December’s knocking on my door
As I sit here and ponder
If you ever wonder how I am.

Much like my solemn thoughts of you,
Snowflakes dance through the open window
And fall silently to the floor.

They melt in the fire’s embers
While I wish my thoughts’d do the same
So I’d forget the pain you caused.

Yet, I still find an unchanged love
And affection for your reflection
In the burning fire’s light.

A year on, I still remember
The sound of your calm and deep voice
Or the sparkle in your green eyes.

But you will never know because,
Just like Sting once sang in a song,
It was “A perfect love gone wrong”.
